In the summer of 2015, several parents approached the administration with offers to help make improvements at the school. Through their own initiative, the parents made a list of things they wanted to do to improve our school. After some input and discussion from both parents and administration, the Parent Teacher Apostolate (PTA), was born.
The PTA started using an online signup system, SignUpGenius, to coordinate stewardship opportunities. SignUpGenius is a great way for parents to choose their stewardship hours by going online to see where their help is needed.
The PTA has helped with Open Houses, First Fridays Doughnuts, Wine & Cheese Kick-offs for auction planning, annual Auction Dinners, Spring and Fall outdoor clean-ups, and many other activities. In fact, thanks to the PTA over $25,000 was raised for the parking lot improvement project, which was completed in the Summer of 2016.
